Vented mouth area reduces fogging of your fishing glasses

The other frustration fishermen have with ordinary face guards is fogging. The only escape route for your breath is out either end of the tube. And, your nose creates a fast lane for escaping breath. The end result is the fogging of your polarized fishing glasses and, many times, the frustrated removal of your sun protection. The Fish Monkey® FLARE™ attacks this problem, too, with Fog-Free Venting. Laser-cut vent holes in the mouth area dramatically reduces the fogging of your fishing glasses while also making breathing easier and reducing heat retention. All of which ensure you will actually wear your face guard and not pull it off in frustration.

Special ultralight 4-way stretch fabric

While others use the same fabric used in performance fishing shirts, which are just too heavy for the face guard application, we developed a special ultralight (and breathable), yet ultra tough 4-way stretch fabric designed specifically for use in a face guard. We call it our “No Shirt” fabric as the lighter weight enhances comfort, reduces heat retention and minimizes restriction.

Tight weave and treatment provide protection

Beware of other face guards that rely only on treatment that can wash out!

As with our gloves, a Fish Monkey® FLARE™ Face Guard features a lighter but tighter (weave) fabric designed specifically to provide maximum (UPF 50+) sun protection without the weight. While we also apply a sun protection treatment, the sun protection does not rely on the treatment, which will, eventually (20 washings), wash out. This LongHaul Life-of-the-Garment Sun Protection ensures our face guards will give you the promised sun protection for as long as you own the face guard.
